DIRECTIONS TO HASTINGS PUBLIC LIBRARY (GARRIDEB MEETINGS) -- 7 Maple Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY

From New Jersey, Rockland, etc:
Cross the Tappan Zee Bridge, stay to the right and take the first exit (#9) – immediately after the toll booths.  At the end of the exit, turn left onto Route 9 South.  Stay on Route 9 South.  After about 3 miles (in the center of Dobbs Ferry), you’ll have to make a right turn to stay on Route 9 South.  After about another 1.5 miles, turn right onto Warburton Avenue.  Make the first right onto North Street.  Make the first left onto Maple Avenue. The Library is just past the Police Station, on the right.  Parking:  There is angle parking on the library side of the street, before the police station.  The meters take quarters.  It costs 50 cents for 6 hours (not 50 cents per hour – 50 cents to park for 6 hours).  There is parallel parking on the other side of the street (free).  There is also a parking lot behind the police station – BUT it will probably be closed for a Farmers’ Market in November.

From the North or the Northeast side of the county:   Take Route 287 toward the Tappan Zee Bridge.  Take exit 9 – the last exit before the bridge.  At the end of the exit, make a left onto White Plains Rd.  At the light, make a left onto Route 9 South.  Stay on Route 9 South. From Long Island or the Southeast side of the county:  Take the Hutchinson River Parkway to the Cross County Parkway – West (toward the Saw Mill River Pkwy).  After about 4 miles, take exit 2 to merge onto the Saw Mill River Pkwy North (toward Albany).  After about 3.5 miles, turn left onto Farragut Pkwy, which will become Farragut Avenue. About 1 mile after turning onto Farragut Pkwy, turn slight right onto Route 9, then a quick left onto Main St.  After about 2/10 of a mile, turn right onto Warburton Avenue, left onto Spring Street, right onto Maple Avenue.  The library is on the left side of Maple.

Train Station:  The train station is very close to the library.  It is virtually next door.  However, the very short walk is uphill.  If you plan to come by train please call Dante at 914 693 8356 and someone will meet you - with a car if that seems appropriate.

Hastings is on the Hudson (Green) Line of Metro-North.  The train leaving Grand Central Station at 12:20 pm arrives at Hastings at 1:02 pm.


DIRECTIONS TO GREENBURGH TOWN LIBRARY (GARRIDEB MEETINGS)

First, get to I-287, the Cross-Westchester Expwy. (see below)

Then, get off I-287 at Exit 4.
From I-287 West, make a left turn onto Route 100A.
From I-287 East, make a right turn onto Route 100A.

The Greenburgh Town Complex (Town Hall and Library) is directly across Route 119.  The Public Library is the second building in the Town Complex.  Enter the driveway from Route 100A and pass through the Town Hall parking lot until you reach the Library parking lot.


***Getting to Rte 287:

From North,
take Rte 684 South to Rte 287 West  -or-
         take Merritt Pkwy to Rte 287 West   -or-
   take New England Thruway to Rte 287 West

From New Jersey,
   take George Washington Bridge to Major Deegan Expwy North to Rte 287 East     -or- 
take Tappan Zee Bridge (1 mile) to Exit 8 (Rte 287 East)
     
From Long Island, 
take the Throgs Neck Bridge to the Hutchinson River Pkwy (past Mill Road) to Rte 287 West   -or-
take the Throgs Neck Bridge to the Cross-Bronx Expwy, to the Bronx River Pkwy, which feeds into the Sprain Brook Pkwy* north.  Take this to Rte 287 West. 

*NOTE: The exit from the Sprain Brook Pkwy (North) to Rte 287 West feeds directly into Exit 2.  Just keep to the right - don't actually get on 287.  (At the end of the exit, you need to make a left.) 


Sprain Brook:  Since there is no exit from the Sprain Brook (heading South) to the 287 (heading West), you have two choices. 
1. Take the exit from the Sprain Brook South to 287 EAST.  Get off at the first exit (Exit 4), make a left and then another left to get back onto 287 -  WEST.  Follow the directions above for traveling from East to West.
2. Get onto Route 9A South directly from the Saw Mill Pkwy or the Taconic Pkwy - at Hawthorne.  Stay on Route 9A South through Elmsford.  Make a left turn onto Route 119 and follow about 1 mile.  The Town Hall/Library will be on your right at Route 100A. 


TRAIN:  We will meet the train at WHITE PLAINS station.  Take the Harlem (blue) Line train leaving Grand Central. Hutchinson River Pkwy Northbound  (From Long Island)
  Exit 17 - North Avenue/New Rochelle/Eastchester
  Make left at exit light (you are about 1.5 miles from Daniel's)
  Make left at fork onto Mill Road
  Stay on Mill Rd straight through large intersection of White Plains Post Rd (Rte 22)
          straight onto Fisher Ave   (Mill Rd turns into Fisher at the intersection)
  Go straight down the hill to Crestwood Train Station.
  Make right onto Columbus Ave.  An American Bistro is on the right.

Hutchinson River Pkwy Southbound (From Connecticut)
  Exit 18W - Mill Road West/Eastchester 
  Have to bear right off the exit onto Mill Road
  Stay on Mill Rd straight through large intersection of White Plains Post Rd (Rte 22)
          straight onto Fisher Ave   (Mill Rd turns into Fisher at the intersection)
  Go straight down the hill to Crestwood Train Station.
  Make right onto Columbus Ave.  An American Bistro is on the right.

Sprain Brook Parkway  or  New York State Thruway:
  Exit Tuckahoe Rd (East)
  1.3 mi. to Garrett St - make right
  1 block to Armourvilla Ave. - make left
    to Main Street - make right
  cross over RR tracks to Columbus Ave. - make left
  two traffic lights  -  An American Bistro is on the right

From Tappan Zee Bridge
  Take Route 287 (toward White Plains) to Sprain Brook Pkwy - South
  Proceed as above

Train:  Metro-North  Harlem line train from Grand Central Station
  Station stop is "Crestwood".  An American Bistro is just across the street.

Parking Note - including some good news: 
Parking is ONLY allowed in the gas station next to the restaurant on SUNDAYS. 
Also, some parking spaces directly across the street are limited time only, even on SUNDAYS.
However, around the corner, on Fisher Ave, about one-half block up the street, is a municipal parking lot.  Parking in this lot is free all day Sunday.  
DIRECTIONS TO CROSSWAY FIELD (ANNUAL PICNIC)


From Tappan Zee Bridge:  About 1 mile past the bridge, take Exit 8E -- Rt. 287 toward White Plains.  Stay on 287 past White Plains to Exit 9S.  Exit 9S is strange, but follow the signs to get on the Hutchinson River Pkwy SOUTH - toward the Whitestone Bridge.  Go about 3.5 miles and get off at Exit 22. At the end of the exit, turn right into Mamaroneck Road.  Go about 1/3 mile to a traffic light.  Turn left at the light into the parking lot. Go to the far end.


From Hutchinson River Pkwy. (either direction):  Get off at Exit 22.  At the end of the exit, turn right onto Mamaroneck Rd.  Go about 1/3 mile to a traffic light.  Turn left at the light into the parking lot.  Go to the far end. 


From Bronx River Pkwy (Northbound):  Get off at Exit 15 -- Fenimore Rd.  Turn right onto Fenimore Road and go until it ends (about 1/2 mile). At the end, turn left and then take the first right (about 100 yards) at the light onto Mamaroneck Road. Follow Mamaroneck Road as it twists and turns. After about 2 miles, you will come to a 'Y' intersection - the field will be right in front of you.  Stay to the left (on Mamaroneck Road). Just past the field is a traffic light. At the light, turn
right into the parking lot.  Go to the far end.

We will meet the Harlem Line train (from Grand Central Terminal) at the HARTSDALE station. The train schedule changes periodically, so please call Ben (914)-948-1376 to check departure time and so we can make sure we have enough cars available.  Remember - HARTSDALE station.
